Join Us for a Powerful Community Conversation
In a moment defined by both promise and pressure, United Way for Greater Austin invites you to join community leaders, business partners, policymakers, philanthropists, nonprofit organizations, and residents for State of the Region: Economic Mobility in a Time of Contradictions. Together, we will examine the realities and paradoxes shaping our region today, explore what new data and community voices are telling us about economic mobility, and consider how we can work together to build a future where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. During this interactive gathering, we will explore:
- Growth and Displacement: How can one of the fastest-growing regions in the country also become increasingly difficult to afford?
- Prosperity and Instability: Why do economic gains coexist with persistent financial insecurity for so many families?
- Innovation and Isolation: How can unprecedented advances in technology and connectivity exist alongside growing disconnection and barriers to opportunity?
- Hope and Exhaustion: What keeps our community moving forward, and what threatens our collective capacity to sustain progress?
Tentative Agenda
- 8:30 AM: Networking and coffee/light bites
- 9:00 AM: Program begins
- 10:00 AM: Table discussions
- 10:30 AM: Event ends
This is an opportunity to better understand our region, strengthen connections across sectors, and explore how business, government, philanthropy, nonprofits, and residents can work together to create lasting change. We hope you'll join us for this important conversation about the future of Central Texas and to grab the first copies of our fiscal year 2025-2026 Impact Report.
